![]() ![]() I don’t need tunes etc but understand they may come with them and it could be a warranty killer. So my question is.I do still have 15k left on the extended warranty but I would like to find a programmer to 1) monitor if it’s in regen and 2) if possible to have the ability to manually regen once the parameters are met. So the other night I took it to my local mechanic who performed a manual ’s quite impressive to experience but the truck runs much better. So the truck doesn’t really get the chance to be got for long enough to complete the regeneration cycle and most of the time I miss the notification to leave it running. I came from a 96 F350 7.3 that has been amazing! So I just wouldn’t go with anything else, however after having the dealership clear the CEL due to stopping the regen cycle too often.which we found was because I ran use the exhaust brake and transmission brake on steep grades everyday it doesn’t let it fully regen.Īs for what I use the truck for: I am a remodeling contractor and pull a 12,000# enclosed trailer daily but most of my projects are within 30-45min from home. Not to beat a dead horse here but I’ve read through multiple forums on the regeneration issue. When the truck gets up around 125% clogged on the upper parameter, it is very loud, like can hear it coming from 4 blocks away easily, louder than a knocking 7.3 that needs an oil change. I do not have the dealer activated dpf monitor in the dash so I have no data from that. I am using the ForScan with the wifi elm 327, and it shows that the dpf is constantly at 110-140% clogged on one of the parameters, then 50-90% full on another parameter. Question is, should I get a tuner that has the capability to do the regen? If not, what is the cheapest option for a tool that will allow a manual user regen? I am tired of not be able to regen, as i feel a few manual regens would clear the problems up, based on what I read. ![]() I drive about 30 miles to work every day, and warm the truck up for 15 minutes before I leave in hopes that the computer will decide to regen. It has about 70000 miles and is regen'ing every 250-300 miles, is loud with injector cackle, and bad fuel mileage.įrom what I understand the engine/injector noise is the computer trying to get the DPF clean, as at times, the noise will go away for about 20 miles or so, then is right back. I have a 2015 F250 with a 6.7, I need to perform a manual regen on the DPF, and would like feedback on my options. ![]()
